9th Club Shore Competition results sent in by Roland Blomfield.
Juniors take 1st and 2nd positions.
On Saturday evening 8th August the club held its 9th Club Shore competition. The venue for this competition was Lymington & Pennington Seawalls and the weather for the evening was good, a flat calm sea and warm. 14 club members signed on and 13 weighed in fish consisting of black and gilthead bream, silver eel, conger eel and smooth-hound. On these competitions under size fish count for points which were bass, conger eel and smooth-hound. All the fish are measured and weighed and returned to the sea as quickly as possible. A total of 35 fish were weighed for a total weight of 15 lbs 8½ oz.
Best round fish of the evening was a smooth-hound of 1 lb 1 oz caught by Barry Samber.

1st Seth Hopkins (Jnr) 2 lb 9 oz and 85 points, 2nd Mia Samber (Jnr) 2 lb 3¾ oz and 90 points, 3rd Barry Samber 1 lb 15¾ oz and 55 points, 4th Steve Monckton 1 lb 8¾ oz and 70 points, 5th Brian Dawkins 1 lb 7⅜ oz and 45 points, 6th Summer Monckton 1 lb 1 oz and 30 points, 7th Andy Hopkins 1 lb 0¼ oz and 35 points, 8th Bruce Samber 0 lb 14¾ oz and 50 points, 9th Simon Stockley 0 lb 14 oz and 50 points, 10th Tom Short 0 lb 11 oz and 60 points,

Best specimen pool of £86.00 and best flat fish pool of £33.00. are both rolled over until the next competition.

On Sunday 19th July the club held its 8th Club Shore competition. This competition was a rover competition and 8 club members signed on. 5 weighed in fish consisting of bream, wrasse, and silver eel. On these competitions undersize fish count for points which were bass, conger eel, gild-head bream and corkwing wrasse. The number of fish caught, weighed and released back into the sea was 16 for a total weight of 14 lbs 8-3/4 oz no juniors fished this competition. Best round fish of the evening was a bream weighing 1 lb 10 oz caught by Bruce Samber.
Results:
1st Bruce Samber 6 lb 6 oz and 65 points, 2nd Steve Monckton 4 lb 6-1/4 oz and 60 points, 3rd Summer Monckton 3 lb 2-1/2 oz and 65 points, 4th Shane Samber 0 lb 8 oz and 40 points,
5th Malcolm Stote 0 lb 2 oz and 55 points. Brian Dawkins 2 under size fish for 25 points. Roland Blomfield and Martin Pink 1 under size fish each and 15 points each.
The pools of best specimen fish of £72-00 and best flat fish of £19-00 are both rolled over until the next competition.

On Sunday 7th June the club held its 7th Club Shore competition at Lepe Deepwater. This was a changed venue from Double Dykes because of the wind. The weather at Lepe was a strong south-westerly with a flat sea and warm.
11 club members signed on and 5 weighed in fish consisting of dogfish, bass and smooth-hound. 7 fish in total were caught, weighed and released back into the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 14 lbs 7 1/4 oz. Under size fish count the points on these competitions which on the day was only bass. Best round fish of the day was a smooth-hound weighing 3 lb 2 oz caught by Steve Monckton.

1st Steve Monckton 5 lb 3/8 oz and 65 pts, 2nd Martin Pink 3 lb 13 ox and 60 pts, 3rd Malcolm Stote 2 lb 15 oz and 45 pts, 4th Charlie Nash 1 lb 10.8 oz and 40 pts, 5th Bruce Samber 1 lb 1 oz and 35 pts. Summer Monckton and Ton Short undersize fish both 15 pts each. Roland Blomfield, Pete Tomkins, Shane and Barry Samber and guest angler William Short (jnr) all no fish but get 5 pts each.
