4th Shingle Bank League Competition.  Results sent in by Malcolm Stote.
    On Thursday evening 26th March the club held its 4th Shingle Bank League competition.  The weather building up to the competition was very windy but on the day of the competition the wind dropped and it turned out to be a perfect evening for fishing.
    11 club members signed on and all 11 weighed in fish consisting of pouting, conger eels, dogfish and smooth-hounds.  A total of 96 fish were caught, weighed, measured and returned as quickly as possible to the sea, for a total weight of 101lbs 11-3/4oz.  The 2 best fish of the competition were 1st a conger eel weighing 4lb 10oz caught by Rory Lancaster and 2nd a dogfish of 2lb 3oz caught by Pete Chamberlain.

      On Thursday evening 12th February the club held its 3rd S.B.L competition.  It was a very breezy evening with a few large sea swells coming in now and again.  7 club members signed on and all 7 weighed in fish consisting of dogfish and pouting.  31 fish in total were caught, weighed and released back into the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 29lbs 8-1/4oz.  The 2 best fish of the evening were 1st a dogfish of 2lb 1-3/8oz caught by Malcolm Stote and 2nd a dogfish of 2lb caught by Leigh Hatt.

1st Shingle Bank league Match.
      This was the 1st match of the 2026 club year for the club.  The weather was showery with light winds with a medium to large sea swell.  12 club members signed on and 10 weighed in fish consisting of bass, conger eel, dogfish, pouting and black bream.  All fish are weighed on the beach and returned as quickly as possible to the sea.  A total of 81 fish were weighed for a total weight of 99lbs 15-1/8oz.  The best fish of the evening was a conger eel weighing 5lb 6oz caught by Patrick Dalton.
