The club held their 2nd large Boat competition on Sunday 23rd March from Poole aboard "Ocean Runner" skippered by Ryan Jones. 10 anglers ventured out with almost perfect weather conditions, First mark was for pouting, dogfish and congers with Pete Chamberlain and Malcolm Gerrish having 3 congers each. Dave Wood and Neil Pullman also managed to find a couple of 3 bearded rocklings with the best going to Neil of 1lb 1oz. Next move saw more dogfish with Marc Duncan having 8 and John Wood 5.
We then decided to drift for plaice where the only fish caught was a small thornback ray caught by Neil. Final stop was for some early bream, where yet again Neil found a plaice and most anglers landed at least 1 bream.
Despite it turning cool after lunch and the fishing hard work, a good day was had by all.
Results.
1st Neil Pullman 118 points, 2nd Dave Wood 80 points, 3rd Malcolm Gerrish 78 points, 4th Pete Chamberlain 73 points ant 5th Marc Duncan 57 points.
