5th Shingle Bank League Competition results sent in by Malcolm Stote.
On Tuesday evening 22nd April the club held its 5th competition. The weather was fine with the wind force 3 to 4 and a little rain in the last 15 minutes of the competition. 9 club members signed on and 4 club members weighed in fish consisting if smooth-hound, dogfish and tub gurnard. A total of 10 fish were caught, weighed and then returned back to the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 20lbs 6-1/8oz. Best fish of the competition was a smooth-hound of 4lb 11oz caught by Malcolm Stote. 2nd best fish was a dogfish caught by Paul Watson. Malcolm was pleased to report that the Shingle Bank was repairing itself nicely and the parking on the night was not an issue.

On Tuesday evening the club held its 4th competition in perfect fishing conditions and light winds. 10 club members signed on and 9 weighed in fish consisting of pouting, dogfish, conger eel and black bream. A total of 20 fish were caught, weighed, measured and released back into the sea gently and as quickly as possible for a total weight of 14lbs 10-1/2oz. Best fish of the evening was a dogfish of 2lb 0oz caught by Derek Slack.
