9th Shingle Bank League Competition for the Peter Tybinkowski Memorial Shield. Results sent in by Malcolm Stote.
On Tuesday evening 19th August the club held its 9th League competition which was fished for the Peter Tybinkowski Memorial Shield Trophy. The weather for the evening was a very calm sea with a slight wind. 11 club members signed on and 7 weighed in fish consisting of bass, conger eel, black bream, smooth-hound and dogfish. 22 fish were caught, weighed and released back into the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 48lbs 4oz. The 2-best fish of the competition were 1st a smooth-hound of 6lb 11-3/8oz caught by Chris Ellis and 2nd also a smooth-hound of 5lb 11oz caught by Brian Dawkins.

On Monday evening 21st July the club held its 8th S. B. L. competition. The weather was a bit rougher than of late but the rain held off. With 20 mph winds it was restricted to a smaller area and all fairly close together as the sea was quite choppy with a reasonably big swell.
5 club members signed on and only 1 weighed in fish consisting of smooth-hound, dogfish and bass. 6 fish were caught for a total weight of 25lbs 14-1/8oz. The best fish of the evening was a smooth-hound weighing 6lb 3oz caught by Malcolm Stote.

1st Malcolm Stote 6 fish 25lbs 14-1/8oz. Sadly Martin Pink, Derek Slack, Pete Tomkins and Paul Watson all blanked.
7th Shingle Bank League competition results sent in by Malcolm Stote.
On Thursday evening 19th June the club held its 7th S.B.L. competition. This was a changed date from 5th June. The weather was perfect and a very pleasant evening for fishing. 7 club members signed on and 4 weighed in fish consisting of smooth-hound and black bream. 12 fish in total were caught, weighed and released back into the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 11lbs 9-1/2oz. Best fish of the evening was a smooth-hound of 3lb 4-7/8oz caught by Malcolm Stote. The parking for this competition was fine and not an issue as before. Let's hope it stays that way and don't let it put you off fishing the competitions. We can work around any problems that arise.

On Thursday evening 22nd May the club held its 6th Shingle Bank League competition on a nice calm and clear evening. 10 club members signed on and 3 weighed in fish consisting of smooth-hound, black bream, conger eel and garfish. 7 fish were weighed in for a total weight of 9lb 2-5/8oz. The 2 best fish of the evening were a smooth-hound 5lb 14oz caught by Chris Ellis and secondly a conger eel of 1lb 13 oz caught by Derek Slack.
