7th club Shore Competition and results sent in by Roland Blomfield.
    On Friday evening 6th June the club held its 7th club shore competition.  This was a changed venue from Solent Road to Friars Cliffe because of a strong south-westerly wind and rain.  10 club members signed on and 3 weighed in fish consisting of dogfish, conger eel and pouting.  On these competitions undersize fish counts for points which was conger eel.  4 sizeable fish were weighed for a total weight of 3lb 5-3/4oz.  Best round fish of the night was a dogfish of 1lb 6-7/8oz caught by Bruce Samber.  Top junior was Seth Hopkins with a conger eel of1lb 2-7/8oz.
Results:
1st Bruce Samber 1 dogfish 1lb 6-7/8oz, 2nd Seth Hopkins (Jnr) 1 conger eel 1lb 2-7/8oz and 3rd Tom Short 2 pouting 0lb 12oz.  Terry Kempton caught an undersize conger eel.  Sadly, al the rest blanked.

6th Club Shore Competition results sent in by Roland Blomfield.
    On Saturday evening 3rd May the club held its 6th club shore competition which was a changed venue from the shingle bank to Milford sea front.  The weather for the evening was cold with light winds and a flat sea.  8 club members signed on and only 2  managed to catch fish which were dogfish and bass.  Only  3 fish were caught which were dogfish and bass for a total weight of 4lb 12-1/8oz.  Best round fish of the evening was a bass weighing 1lb 12oz caught by Terry Kempton.
Results.
1st Malcolm Stote 3lb 0-1/8oz and 55 points, 2nd Terry Kempton 1lb 12oz and 50 points, Bruce Samber, Shane Samber, Roland Blomfield, John Hitchiner, Summer and Steve Monckton all blanked but get 5 points each.

    On Saturday evening 26th April the club held its 5th club shore competition at Calshot Beach.  It was a warm evening with light winds and a nice flat sea.  15 club members signed on and all 15 weighed in fish consisting of dogfish, pouting, bass and smooth-hound.  On these competitions under size fish count for points which were smooth-hound.  A total number of 60 sizeable fish were caught, measured and weighed and released back into the sea as quickly as possible for a total weight of 67 lbs 0-5oz.
    Best round fish of the evening was a smooth-hound of 6lb 9oz caught by Barry Samber.  Top junior of the evening was Mia Samber with 1lb 14-3oz.
