10th Club Shore competition.  Results sent in by Roland Blomfield.
    On Saturday 22nd September the club held its 10th shore competition.  This was a changed venue from Warren Edge to Chalshot because the wind at Warren Edge was so strong it was unfishable so it was changed to Chalshot where there is more protection from the wind.  13 club members signed on and 9 weighed in fish consisting of silver eel, conger eel, red mullet, dogfish, black bream, codling and smooth-hound.  On these competitions undersize fish count for points which were bass, smooth-hound and conger eel.   A total of 23 fish were weighed for a total weight of 23 lbs 8-7/8 oz.
   Best round fish of the evening was a conger eel of 1 lb 13-3/8 oz caught by Malcolm Stote.  Best flat fish and specimen pools are carried over until the next competition.  Top junior was Seth Hopkins with 1 lb 6-7/8 oz and winner of The Wayman and Shepherd Perpetual Challenge Cup.  Malcolm Stote is the winner of the President's Cup.

5th  Seth Hopkins (jnr) 1 lb 6-7/8 oz and 85 points, 6th Andy Hopkins 1 lb 0-1/4 oz and 40 points, 7th Tom Short 0 lb 14 oz and 35 points, 8th Mia Samber (jnr) 0 lb 9 oz and 60 points, 
9th Martin Pink 0 lb 9 oz and 30 points, 10th Smon Stockley 2 undersize fish for 25 points, 11th Shane and Barry Samber both 1 undersize fish and 15 points each, 13th Roland Blomfield no fish and 5 points.

    On Saturday evening 2nd August the club held its 9th club shore competition which was fished on Pennington Sea Wall.  The weather for the evening was sunny with a westerly wind. Nine club members signed on and seven weighed in fish consisting of smooth-hound, bass and silver eels.  On these competitions undersize fish count for points which were sole and bass.  All fish once weighed are returned to the sea as quickly as possible.  14 fish were weighed for a total of 17 lbs 10-5 oz.  Best fish of the night was a smooth-hound weighing 5 lb 7 oz caught by junior member Mia Samber which gave her top junior and 1st place of the evening's competition.  WELL, DONE MIA.

8th Club Shore Competition and results sent in by Roland Blomfield.
    On Friday evening 8th July the club held its 8th club shore competition at the Shingle Bank and Keyhaven beach.  This was due to the parking problem everyone is having due to camper vans in New Lane.  The weather for the evening was a strong gusty westerly wind with rain showers.  10 club members signed on and 7 weighed in 27 fish consisting of bream and bass for a total weight of 20lbs 7.5oz.   On these competitions undersize fish count for points which were also bream and bass.  Best round fish of the evening was a bass of 1lb 12oz caught by new member Martin Pink.
