9th Shingle Bank League Competition. The Peter Tybinkowski Memorial Shield. Results sent in by Luke Woodford.
On Thursday evening 29th August the club held its 9th Shingle Bank league competition. The weather for the evening was mild, sunny with a south-westerly wind. The competition was held in memory of Peter Tybinkowski who tragically died whilst fishing one of these competitions several years ago.
8 club members and 1 guest signed on and 6 weighed in fish consisting of smooth-hound, dogfish, black bream, cod and scad. 28 fish were caught for a total weight of 34lbs 5-1/2oz. Best fish of the evening were a smooth-hound of 4lb 1-1/8oz caught by Malcolm Stote
and a smooth-hound of 2lb 7-1/8oz caught by Luke Woodford.

4th Luke Woodford with 1 fish for 2lb 7-1/8oz, 5th Derek Slack (guest) with 3 fish for 1lb 15oz, 6th Peter Tomkins with 1 fish for 0lb 8oz.

On Tuesday evening 16th July the club held its 8th Shingle Bank League competition. The weather for the evening was sunny with a north by north-westerly wind dropping off during the evening. 12 club members signed on and 10 weighed in fish consisting of black bream, dogfish and conger eel. 22 fish were caught for a total weight of 18 lbs 1 3/4 oz. Best 2 fish of the evening were a black bream of 1 lb 11 3/8 oz caught by Andy Hopkins and a dogfish of 1 lb 6 1/8 oz caught by Peter Tomkins.
