CLUB COMPETITIONS.

The Large Boat Competitions.

  For those who don't have their own boat, or want the opportunity to go further afloat, the Club's Large Boat Commodore organises monthly trips usually from April - December.

The boat we use is Private Venture, owned by club member Arther Savage, who has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience over the many years he has operated as a charter boat skipper. Private Venture ia a South Boat catamaran 34 ft x 16 ft 6 ins and capable of 16 knots; she is licensed for 10 anglers. Whilst club members have priority, spare places occasionally become available on these trips, and anyone interested should contact Alec Harmer { 01590 674045 } for further details.

  The trips range from inshore fishing around the Needles area off the Isle of Wight, principally for bass, skate, rays, whiting, tope, turbut, plaice, pout, smoothhound, conger and cod to mid - channel wrecking trips, where pollack, cod, ling and conger are the main target species. These wreck trips are not part of the competition calendar.

  To help conservation of fish stocks, the competitions are fished using a points system, with specimen fish earning extra points.

Shingle Bank League Competitions.

These competitions are one a month and week days Monday to Friday and fished from 7-30pm until

11-30pm. No Weekends. For further information the Shingle Bank League secretary is Adrian Smith and he can be reached on Lymington 01590-626604.

Shore Competitions.

These competitions are on Saturday or Sunday and held at various fishing venues along the south coast. Starting and finshing times may vary. For further information the Shore Competition secretary is Nigel Shoat and he can be reached on Lymington 01590-678905.

Specimen and Species Competitions.

These competitions are run in conjuction with some of the Shore competitions and are organised by Roland Blomfield. For further information regarding these competitions you can reach Roland on Lymington 01590-683363.

Summer League Competitions.

The summer league is run during the summer months Monday to Friday only and consits of 5 or 6 pegged matches and a bonus competition. These competitions are run by Colin Saunders who can be reached on New Milton 01425-629923.

Winter League Competitions.

The winter league starts in October and consist of 7 pegged matches and a bonus competition. Fishing is always between 8pm and 11-30pm and held between Monday and Friday. These competitions are run by Keith Panks who can be reached on Lymington 01590-626714.

Child and Parent Competition.

This is a one off competition and is fished during July. It has a good following with mums and daughters and fathers and sons fishing together. This competition is organised by Laura Blomfield who can be reached on Lymington 01590-683363.
